The first world war was originally called "The War to End All Wars" and "The Great War." Then, along came Hitler, Hirohito, and Mussolini. Pearl Harbor sealed it and we had "World War II." The "Great War" was relegated to "World War I."
After the stock market crash of 1929 we had the "Great Depression." Here we are in 2009, experiencing an "extended recession" or "repression." If it turns out to be worse than the 1930's, will it become "Great Depression II" or the "Greater Depression?"
If it is not quite as bad, will it be the "Good Depression?"
